1 | Why should we pray to Mary? | 1 Tim 2:5 | EdB | 26711
Don't go there! We judge every day. Jesus said we can't tell if a person is saved or not and that is true but I sure can see their fruit and if it is rotten fruit I can judge them to be rotten. Why do you think he said you will know them by there fruit? This "judge not" everyone tosses around is really saying be careful the standard you use to judge others may be the standard your judged with. In other words remove the beam from your eye before you try to remove a speck from someone else's. Of course we are to judge, how else would we know what is of the world and what is of Christ? Rote has been proven to be the best way of learning and has the highest retention rate. I submit to you unless you learn your multiplication tables you will never know how to multiply. I never said remove the joy I’m saying Holiness is missing. Look at the Temple the children of Israel did not just run in and dance around. There was a holiness and awe. Notice how John meets Jesus in Revelation he doesn’t high five Him. He falls on his face before Him. This is the holiness and awe of God that is missing. EdB |

2 | Why should we pray to Mary? | 1 Tim 2:5 | RANDELLO | 26718
It is one thing to judge what is of the world and what is of Christ, another to judge an individual's opportunity for salvation. Psalm 7:8, let the LORD judge the peoples. Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High. Deuteronomy 32:36, The LORD will judge his people and have compassion on his servants when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free. Did not the children who flocked to Jesus throughout his ministry greet Him with glee and child-like wonder? Did they fall prostrate before Him or reach to touch and greet Him as a child? There is time for them to gain reverance and "holiness", is there no room for them to be children? |

3 | Why should we pray to Mary? | 1 Tim 2:5 | EdB | 26786
Randello Your right about the children around Jesus, and I said we should not steal their joy. However what I'm talking about is respect, respect for holiness and awe of God. This isn't being taught because many parents don't have it. This is something that is taught in the Catholic church. I'm not saying the catholic church does everything right or even most things right I'm saying as a visitor to catholic church I observe respect, holiness and awe of God that I don't see reproduced in Protestant churches. Now if you don't see that okay, it was my observation and my opinion. I will not be placed in the situation of defending the catholic church, discernment(judgement), knowing people by their fruit or any of the other things you seem to want to debate. If you fail to understand these things then what is the point of me trying to enlighten you. EdB |
