1 | Why should we pray to Mary? | 1 Tim 2:5 | LisaMarie | 26654 | ||
Morning Ed, No I don't see any connections or similarities. Our Lady of Fatima bids us to pray and pray always - To Our Lord. She also bids us to study scripture, confess our sins and get our butts to church. I was thinking last night about this whole whoopla and actually having a good giggle about it. A few people here have serious issues with "our way." Catholics spend too much time in church, too much time in prayer, stress sacraments too much, spend too much time doing good works. Which makes us sound like we're preparing for the biblical equivalent of the eco-challenge. HAhahaha! Then they say - all you need is Jesus. Biblical equivalent of a bowling league? Dunno, just had a good laugh over it. However, I agree. Jesus is the end all be all. Everything I do, I do for Him! Anyway, Then the same people want to come along and say Mary distracts us. So which is it? We're doing too much or too little? Apologetics, that is the defense of my faith, is a current hot topic. Though I like to read about it, I don't much care to put it into action. If my faith is being attacked and I in turn am defending it, who is out spreading the Gospel? Take care Ed! Lisa |

"Then the same people want to come along and say Mary distracts us. So which is it? We're doing too much or too little?" I think the point people are trying to make is you do too much that doesn't make a difference instead of focusing on what does. :) Lisa, maybe you aren't lost but there are sooooo many Cath who are, I used to be one, my whole family was too. If you aren't told the plan of salvation the way the Bible lays it out, how are you supposed to know??? You can spend all your time in church, take sacraments, do good works, be an exemplerory person, pray to every saint and Mary for intercession, live on your knees, but if you don't personally know Jesus, it's a waste of time, you're still going to hell. That's the point I believe. |
