1 | Is God really just? | Deut 32:4 | Lionstrong | 30476
Dear ArtS, The Arminian view of God's justice does not do it justice. In their view the sins of the non-believing sinner are punished twice, once on the cross and again on judgement day. The biblical view does not teach double jeopardy. The non-believer's sins are punished once only on judgement day (Rom. 2:5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who will render to every man according to his deeds...). The believing sinner's sins are punished once only. Rom. 3:21-26 ¶ But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. In Christ God remains just and the justifier of the one who believes in Jesus! Peace, Lionstrong |

2 | Is God really just? | Deut 32:4 | EdB | 30479
Lionstrong Would you be so kind to explain to me a justice of the Calvinist side where your only saved if God picked you before the foundations of the world. Before you had personality, reason, or even sin He picked you to be saved. True justice is seen in Arminianism where Christ provided salvation for all that would believe. God made the way, God gave us the choice, the ones that are left to stand at the judgement seat are left by their choice, that is justice. I fail to see how you say Arminian’s view non believers are punished twice. Once at the cross and once a judgement day. Jesus paid the price it is up to us to decide whether we trust in Him or not. With your view everyone would have to be saved once at the cross and there would be no one to stand before the judgement seat. Be Blessed and be a Blessing EdB |

3 | Is God really just? | Deut 32:4 | Reformer Joe | 30482
Without rehashing the whole debate again, let me point out that Calvinist and Arminians both hold that "Christ provided salvation for all that would believe." I don't think that Lionstrong meant that non-believers are punished twice. The point he is trying to make is that, under the Arminian view, Christ paid for our sins AND non-believers in Christ will also pay for them in hell. The injustice that the Calvinist sees is not that the sinner will pay for the sins twice, but rather that two people will have paid for the SAME sins: Christ and the non-Christian. --Joe! |
