1 | Human Power? | John 15:5 | Hank | 129402
Mark, where does Scripture teach that salvation is conditional? Where does it say that the condition rests with us? Does the Bible define 'condition' and 'conditional' and if so, how does it define these terms? What do the terms mean to you? Ephesians 2:8 calls salvation the gift of God. From this passage what implication of any condition do you see that "rests with us"? If by "condition" you mean faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, this is wholly scriptural. But if "condition" by your definition encompasses anything more than that, Scripture does not support it. One final question. In saying "IF anyone hears His voice and opens the door," who are they who hear His voice and how are they enabled to hear it? --Hank

Hello, Hank. In reference to Mark's statement, "IF anyone hears His voice and opens the door...", I was going to ask the very same question of Mark concerning who is able to hear His voice, since it appears that only some can hear it. Which would lead to the next question (also asked by you), how is it that some can hear and some not? Ah, well...you phrased them better. :) I do hope Mark will respond. In Christ, Karen |
