1 | Is Catholic considered false religion? | Matt 15:6 | justme | 71918
Emmaus: With respect and brotherly love, I address this to you, with sensitivity and kindness in my heart. I am about half way finished with the complete FOXE'S BOOK OF MARTYRS. Have you ever read or heard of it? For many centuries those who refused to accept that the Cup and Bread were actually the very Blood and Body of Christ, were tourchered and burned at the stake by the thousands. In Mexico today, there are verifiable reports of protestants being beaten and killed. They are not allowed to even be burried in the local cemetery. There has been a change in how to treat protestants from that of Vatacan 2, with the present Pope positions on these issues. This saddens me. Having read your notes, and responses to others, I am preceive you are a genuine believer, and well read in Scripture. I have said these things as enlightenment, not to divide us. I wonder how do you respond to the book and what I've said? Please, please do not feel I am attempting to belittle you, or cause hard feelings, I simply would like a dialogue with you, if you so choose to do so. Blessings to you. justme |

2 | Is Catholic considered false religion? | Matt 15:6 | Emmaus | 71924
Justme, Catholics have their equivalents of Foxes Book of Martyrs which tell the stories of Catholics killed for the faith by Reformers. Thomas More and John Fisher amongs others by Henry VII come to mind immediately. And that is not to mention all the Anabaptists killed by Reformers and Catholics alike. It is a dark stain on all the Church. I don't bring up Catholic martyrs of the Reformation such as those hunted down, tortured and Martyred by Topcliffe under Elizabeth, or in other countries because I do not think it serves any of us well to compare Christian atrocities between us. Repentence is what is required by all parties. Emmaus |
