Subject: Hypocrite and refused to be saved same? |
Bible Note: Hey Jeff, Maybe I'm pretexting here, but using Lk 12:48b ...And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more. And also the verse that talks about teachers being more accountable (I don't know where that one is) I've always thought about that verse in 1Cor. 5 as being to just let the wrong-doer be if after all is said and done he/she refuses to stop behaving badly. The more it's pointed out that it is wrong the more light is going in and being ignored (therefore more to answer for). Like you said, it's a brother or sister we're talking about (a wayward one, no doubt) and we need to be there if and when they "come to themselves." I'm having trouble wording this, but maybe you follow what I'm trying to say? :-) - We don't kick them out (excommunicate/ostracize) them but we don't embrace them wholeheatedly as though they are in the right either?
