Subject: Jesus name of the Father, Son and H/Ghos |
Bible Note: Justme, "Holy Ghost" is a term preferred especially among the Pentecostal Churches. And is may have started because of the KJV. We Are aware that it is the "Holy Spirit". But "Holy Ghost" has taken on a meaning all its own in these Churches. When we say "Holy Ghost" we know that this is the spirit of promise of the indwelling spirit. We still use the term "Holy Spirit" when relating to the Old Testament. And no, I am not bound by the KJV. Most all of our Churches use the KJV in Service (Sunday School, Bible Class, Morning Worship etc.) It would be confusing for everyone to have his or her favorite translation in this type of setting. I can not answer your question in the way that you would like regarding the baptism and Church History. Only to say you will understand when you see the Kingdom of God. When it comes to the baptism in Jesus name you are fulfilling Matt 28:20 also. You do not need to understand this to Obey. It is a big mistake to try to understand before you Obey. You must be born of the Water and the Spirit to see the Kingdom of God. I made a mistake by using a lower case R in "rock". This elevate him on a human term (and don't get me wrong this is important)and God knows I did it in error. But God is looking for obedience this is what really honors God. Jesus name in English is accurate enough. It is not just the utterance of the name, but also to know him. Hope this helps. |
