Subject: Jesus name of the Father, Son and H/Ghos |
Bible Note: I read some of it. I was brought up in a UPC church. I didn't even know they were oneness until years later. I always believe in the trinity, it was something that never crossed my mind. My distant Family (aunts uncles ect. are mostly UPC. They won't discuss the oneness with me anymore or the tongues to be saved thing. (I still havn't seen a verse to back that up. Except Acts 2 which doesn't back it up but its all they got to go on. A person passed away a couple of months ago. one of my family members said "I wondered if he was saved" The other one said, "I think I heard him speak in tongues before he died so I guess so." All I could do is shake my head, and say, "Good thing he didn't hear him speak in tongues when he was dead." I dunno if they are saved or not (I hope so) Its my family. I honestly don't think they actually believe in what they say they do about oneness, Tongues and baptizism. They rarely baptize maybe 3 times a year. If you needed baptizism to be saved which they claim you do then you would think they would drag people to the tub before it was to late, but they do not. People in the Congergation call it the "The White Tub message" when the preacher says you must be baptized. If I thought that baptism saved I would have a Bath tub straped to my back. A lot of their churches that I have been in don't have a baptismal They use the creek or lake. and in the middle of winter where I am from can get down to -40. There whole main thing is They want to baptize in Jesus' name as Acts 2:38 does. They also have this thing about if you are a woman DO NOT CUT YOUR HAIR AND ALWAYS WEAR DRESSES. and for the men ITS KEEP YOUR HAIR SHORT. I think they believe its the 2 deadly sins if you do not follow these rules. |
