Subject: Jesus name of the Father, Son and H/Ghos |
Bible Note: My opinion, After studing this, If you are baptized in the name of the father, son and Holy Ghost or in the name of Jesus by full immersion you don't need to be rebaptized. Now if you were baptized as a baby thats a different story. To explain Acts, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost Matt. 28:19 Notice here the words all nations. This is a key. when "nations" is used in the Bible it doesn't refer to Israel. Now in now in Acts 2:38 who was peter taking to. The Jews ofcourse, The Jews who rejected Jesus Christ. The baptizing in the name of Jesus' was because it was showing to Confession that they Believed Jesus was there Messiah, Not many days before that they crusified Him. That is why I think Peter baptized the Jews in the name of Jesus. Baptizism is confessing that Jesus is Lord. (Rom 10:9) You have great men of God who have debated over the baptizism by water for years. In Christ, Darcy |
