Bible Note: dear John, If you read Lev 6 about the burnt offerings and find the passages on the vows made to G-d in Num 6 (I think), you'll get your answer to this riddle (or at least as much of an answer our pea brains can handle). You're absolutely right, Abba would not accept a human sacrifice. The blood of perfect, innocent animals was always the substitute.
