Bible Question: I am having difficulty explaining the trinity...can anyone help? Thanks |
Bible Answer: Three in One. That's one possible explanation. You have the Father; the Son; and the Holy Ghost; three separate and distinct individuals within one God-Head. Something like the Smith family. You have Mr. Smith; Mrs. Smith and Jr. Smith. How many individuals are we talking about here?? How many families are there?? Three individuals and one family. The Oneness of God is a principle that is stipulated time and time again throughout the scriptures. Take the body as another example. We have many members to our body; fingers, toes, arms, legs, so forth and so on, but how many bodies do we have?? I Cor. 12:12, "For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, SO ALSO IS CHRIST." One of the most important things to know about the trinty, is that even though there is an order, even though the Son submitts to the will of the Father, please do not take this to imply that the Son is inferior to the Father. They are equal in nature and power. There are many who believes that just because Jesus submitts to the Father, He is inferior to the Father. Jesus is no more inferior to the Father, than a wife is inferior to the husband. What Jesus submitts to is the position of the Father, the same way the wife submitts to the poistion of the husband. Hope this helps. TheCurtMan |
