Subject: Is the Sabbath on Saturday? |
Bible Note: Pastor Bill J, if I may add a bit of personal info to my last post on this thread. On Saturdays my family DOES worship God, together with many others in our church. I DO NOT have to come on Saturday, because the Church also holds 14 different worship services on Sundays, throughout the day and throughout its facility. I could come to one of the many morning ones, one of the afternoon ones, or one of the evening ones – which ever would be my choice. The Lord, according to His own word, leaves such decisions up to me, the same as “do I wear black or brown shoes”. Each of many separate Saturday services offers those leading them more flexibility than the Sunday pastors have, because of the “next Sunday service” starts every hour and a half. Many of our pastors make good use of the facility to accommodate the many “congregations” gathering in “their” place. All of the Saturday ones start and finish at the same time. Although many “after service” groups meet for additional teaching, etc, if they desire. This too might change because ALL of the “sanctuaries” are filling up, so we might have to add additional service times on Saturdays too. So, sir, why would I “condemn” someone, Jew or otherwise, for CHOOSING to worship on the same day I choose to worship my Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God? That’s where we can conclude the “problem” rests in your illegitimate argument DEMANDING what God Himself does NOT demand. Rather, He refutes such demands from mere men. And, with your blatantly placing condemnation upon “Sabbath breakers”, when MY Bible declares there is NOW, (which suggests that in the past there might have been) no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. My family has discovered that even on Saturdays at our church, you had better get here early because the parking lot only holds around 2,500 spaces. That’s why there is talk about increasing the number of services on Saturdays, like they were forced to on Sundays, because the various sanctuaries only hold so many people. To attend here on Sundays, forget it, whenever I desire to fight traffic jams I head into THE city before, or after a ball game. (The road would less crowded on those days) :) Taleb |
