Subject: Is the Sabbath on Saturday? |
Bible Note: Searcher, sorry it took me to long to return a response. Has your modem ever gone “haywire”? To answer these questions quickly, let me ask you one. Your answer will answer these questions for you. Do you know what the Greek word is for “the first day of the WEEK?” Sabbaton. Strong’s 4521. It is same word translated "week" is translated Sabbath everywhere else. Interesting. Also, in Paul's day and age, (even in many places in the world today) Gentiles worked every day. They didn't keep track with a 7-day week. Jews worked at the most six days in a row, depending on how many "sabbaths" there were. And about when did workers get paid in Corinth? The day they worked was pay day. Matthew 20:1-16 talks about a day’s wage for a day’s work. It is still the same in most of the world today. At the end of the day, everyone is paid. Surely you didn’t think they had pay days like we do, where the employers withholds the first week or two? Respectfully, Taleb |
