Subject: So when did "evil" start? |
Bible Note: Hey guys, hope this post isn't too old to jump into... ...anyway, I am very familiar with the Documentary Hypothesis (J, E, P, D sources, redaction, all the rest of the nonsesne) and through my research I can tell you that the Yahweh, Elohim, etc. differences that many "scholars" use to attack Mosaic authorship on the Pentateuch actually support the unified authorship tradition as held by Christ Himself. Also, I think you are stopping short by saying that the writing of Scripture is divinely inspired but the compilation was in the hands of men. Surely, the writing was in the hands of men as well, but thier hands were being guided by the Spirit. How can be believe that God would inspire the writing of His Holy Word only to have it obscured, lost, and polluted in it's entirety? In other words, how can you believe in a god so impotent as to operate in that manner? No, it is clear from even a cursory honest readong of Scripture that very little (if anything) is ultimately in the hands of man. We can be assured that the 66 canonical books of the Bible are the inerrant Word of God in its entirety because God is God. As far as any serious study of eastern mysticism or any other occultic doctrine, warnings abound. The world feeds us lies and decpetions and does it under the guise of "open-mindedness." In all reality (and you don't have to look beyond the Bible to discover this) there is nothing of value to be gained by any "wise" men who don't stand completely and inexorably upon the Bible, the Holy Word of God. |
