Bible Question: Am I correct in knowing that the good vs. evil battle started when Lucifer craved the attention and adulation that was justly God's? God did create Lucifer to be His minister of music, but Lucifer's jealously caused him to be struck down and take a third of the angels with him. Does his opposition to God mark the "beginnings" of good vs. evil? |
Bible Answer: Was Lucifer 'tempted' to be vain? No, I don't think that God is responsible for that. As far as we are told, Lucifer was the first 'sinner,'and it had to start somewhere. Frankly, I am not sure I like the phrase 'good vs. evil.' Though I don't think you meant it in this manner, many people think of it as a battle between almost equal opponents. For the sake of those who watch too many movies, God Almighty is the Creator, and Satan is just a miniscule 'wannabe,' soon to be vanquished with a breath. Though we are now temporarily living in a place heavily influenced by this petty pretender, we are citizens of the kingdom of God, and will soon live there forever. Hallelujah! Amen. |
