NASB | 1 John 3:24 The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 3:24 The one who habitually keeps His commandments [obeying His word and following His precepts, abides and] remains in Him, and He in him. By this we know and have the proof that He [really] abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us [as a gift]. |
Subject: Jesus said He would sent the Holy Spirit |
Bible Note: Greetings, and welcome to the forum. Your posting is very lengthy with information but for starters could you please back up your comments with biblical chapter and verse? I realize this is asking a lot but if you would please just cover the first part it might help. You stated, “You recieve the Holy Spirit, when you accept Jesus Christ into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior by Confession of your Sin,” Where in Scripture does is say that we accept Jesus Christ into our heart as our Lord and Savior by confession of our sin? I thought that we were only supposed to believe on Jesus for eternal life where does it say as an unbeliever, that to receive Christ, one must confess sin? John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Is sin the issue or believing in Jesus the issue in salvation? Ephes. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, CDBJ |
