Subject: the angels that sinned |
Bible Note: My opinion is this: The Sons of God mentioned in Genesis 6 are fallen angels. Here are the main reasons I believe this: 1) Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. Here the Sons of God are refering to angels. 2) The Only man in the Old testement is called a son of God is Adam (Luke 3:38). We aren't called sons of God until the New Testament. And I believe this is the reason: a) The angels and Adam are directly created by God. After Adam yes we are created by God but also must go through a woman to be born. Now in the New Testament Jesus says we must be born again or probably a better translation is Born from above (John 3:3) That is when we are born (created) directly from God. Hince we are new Creatures. (2 Cor. 5:17) Then we become sons of God. Now why there are some fallen angels bound and some not. After the Flood we know that Angels kept having relations with woman (ie. Goliath and his brothers are the offspring)Those angels are now bound. Also notice what God tells Satan in Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel." Now I think the reasons for the Angels going into the daughters of men was to defile the seed that the Messiah would come from. Satan tried this tatic but it didn't work because Noah was righteous in God's eyes. (Gen. 6:9) In Christ, Darcy |
