NASB | James 3:1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 3:1 Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly]. |
Bible Question: Why will teachers receive the greater or stricter judgment? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Matt 7:28-29, 23:1-32 ... The Bible is Right, greetings, again, Let me add to what Makarios posted. Jesus got after the teachers (Matt 23:1-32) ... they were the blind leading the blind. They were responisble. When I teach, I need to be correct and teach what God wants me to teach, not what I want. I must be very careful not to teach for the wrong reasons. Jesus taught differently (Matt 7:28-29) ... I think no one can match Him. Hope this helps, Searcher |
