NASB | James 3:1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 3:1 Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly]. |
Bible Question: You are a teacher of God's word? Does that scare you sometimes when you read James 3:1? |
Bible Answer: Hi The Bible is Right, When I read your question just now I thought of the teacher of Israel in John 3:9. This teacher of spiritual things said, "How can these things be?" I think that a good teacher is like Christ in that a good teacher speaks of the things that he knows. Christ was called "Teacher" and He spoke of the things that He knew, both heavenly and earthly things. John 3:11, NKJ, "Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness." From the heart, Ray |
