NASB | James 3:1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 3:1 Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly]. |
Bible Question: Jesus is The "Teacher", but why the teachers of today don't believe all that Jesus taught? about Salvation, the church or kingdom of God and weather or not one can be lost once they have became a believer. |
Bible Answer: The Bible is right: In Isaiah 30:10 we read the request of those "who would not hear the law of the Lord" "Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:" This thought is given by Paul in his letter to Timothy in regard to people in the last days "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;" You ask the question "Why do teachers of today not teach the truth of the word of God?" In part due to the fear of man or in total indifference to God's word there are some who teach what the people want to hear. We read in Romans 1:18 "That the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all unrighteousness of men, who hold (hold down) the truth in unrighteousness. You have noted that Jesus is The "Teacher". We can rejoice that he is the source of absolute truth in a world of varibleness. To those who know him as Saviour and Lord, he has entrusted this "treasure" in earthen vessels and as such we are stewarts of his precious word and responsible in our use of it. As "we grow and grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ" he reveals his truth to us by his Spirit through his word. This is not an overnight process, but one which will be for eternity.
