NASB | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away--it is impossible to bring them back again to repentance, since they again nail the Son of God on the cross [for as far as they are concerned, they are treating the death of Christ as if they were not saved by it], and are holding Him up again to public disgrace. |
Bible Question:
You wrote ... "Do not be ignorant, but understand what is the will of the Lord." "There is no sin, that in a time of weakness" ... where are these verses found? 1 Jo 5:16 says "If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not (leading) to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not (leading) to death. There is (a) sin (leading) to death; I do not say that he should make request for this" (NASB). Leading and a are not in the originial ... Young's Literal Translation says, "If any one may see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and He shall give to him life to those sinning not unto death; there is sin to death, not concerning it do I speak that he may beseech;" Rom 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." So how to you reconcile these two verses. |
Bible Answer: Reconcile Romans 6:23 and 1 John 5:16. Sin brings death, except the sin that is committed while one walks in the light: this sin is forgiven immediately. But the Christian must, once aware of his sin, have a repentant heart that confesses unto God--as David did in Psalm 51. By repentance and confession, you demonstrate to God that you don't take his gift lightly. Attitude counts for a lot. That's the primary difference between sin that is unto death and sin NOT unto death. |
