NASB | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away--it is impossible to bring them back again to repentance, since they again nail the Son of God on the cross [for as far as they are concerned, they are treating the death of Christ as if they were not saved by it], and are holding Him up again to public disgrace. |
Subject: If you are saved can you lose it |
Bible Note: Robert, You have quoted many scriptures with which I agree. God does want us to have eternal life and God wants us to be sure of our salvation. However, you have not dealt with the question. Can you walk away from your salvation? Can you lose it? Can you ignore Hebrews chapter 6? Remember, Hebrews was written to Christians. How about Hebrews 12:15-17 or 10:36-39. Read Galatians 4:7-9. These are just a few. God can save us, but your salvation is dependent upon wlaking in the light. As Romans 8 describes, we must walk in the spirit. You have a choice as a free will agent. You can set your mind on things of the spirit or on things of the flesh. You can taste the word of God and then fall away. |
