NASB | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 6:6 and then have fallen away--it is impossible to bring them back again to repentance, since they again nail the Son of God on the cross [for as far as they are concerned, they are treating the death of Christ as if they were not saved by it], and are holding Him up again to public disgrace. |
Subject: disciplerami, it is impossible (Heb 6:6) |
Bible Note: disciplerami I want to say after reading yours and Tim's thoughts on this passage. And in the light of tim's explaination of the Greek I believe I now agree with yours and Tim's conclusion. I think repenting after committing the sin of Hebrew 6:6 is possible but is as you say pretty unlikely, I might say very unlikely. In any case this passage in Hebrew 6 is clearly talking about Christians, that can and do fall away. To assess any other meaning to this is simply modifing scripture. EdB |
