NASB | 2 Timothy 1:12 For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Timothy 1:12 This is why I suffer as I do. Still, I am not ashamed; for I know Him [and I am personally acquainted with Him] whom I have believed [with absolute trust and confidence in Him and in the truth of His deity], and I am persuaded [beyond any doubt] that He is able to guard that which I have entrusted to Him until that day [when I stand before Him]. Bible Note: Before Christ became my Lord, I remember watching pastors on T.V. and thinking....what a joke! The church was the last place that I wanted to be. The Bible has a way of showing us ourselves. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.(Rom 3:11) Sure we have freedom of choice, but when it came to us choosing to seek God; WERE WAS IT THEN? You must take in account God's sovereignty and providence. Remember that GOD IS ON THE THRONE. Since you claim to be saved, ask yourself this question; Would I (freely) choose to leave Jesus Christ and return to a world destined for hell? If your answer is no then you truly have the mind of Christ.(1 Cor 2:16) But if you had to ponder over that question then you have to examine youself. Jesus says, "I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never parish."(John 10:28) You get that NEVER parish, there's nothing about our free-will; He said "I GiVE" If God left it up to us and our FREEDOM OF CHOICE then heaven would be completely empty.(1 Cor 15:50) Being born-again means a new desire to follow a new Will, GODS WILL. If God has a limit with His children then where is it? One, Five, Thirteen sins? You'r not sure right! Well I am. "For this is the covenant that I wil make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the 'Lord; I will put my laws into thier mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to my a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighboour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greastest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and thier iniquities will I remember no more.'" (Heb. 8:10-12) |
