NASB | 2 Timothy 1:12 For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Timothy 1:12 This is why I suffer as I do. Still, I am not ashamed; for I know Him [and I am personally acquainted with Him] whom I have believed [with absolute trust and confidence in Him and in the truth of His deity], and I am persuaded [beyond any doubt] that He is able to guard that which I have entrusted to Him until that day [when I stand before Him]. Bible Question: Well then What does Ephesians 4:30 and Eph.1:13-14 mean. I was raised and tought once saved always saved by I dont understand that Scripture? |
Bible Answer: Here are some verses that speak to the “Once saved always saved” doctrine 2 Pet 2:19 promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved. 2 Pet 2:20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. Heb 3:12 Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. Heb 3:13 But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Heb 3:14 For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end, Matt 24:13 "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. 1 Cor 15:1 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 1 Cor 15:2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. Rev 3:5 'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. 1 Cor 9:27 but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified. Not to dishearten anyone. But salvation CAN BE lost. Sin separates us from salvation. God’s grace reunites us with it. Does that mean that God stops loving those who fall into sin? No. God’s love and His grace are two different things. We can’t stop God from loving us. But we CAN reject His grace. With Christian Love Ocelot |
