Subject: wine and acohol |
Bible Note: Aniset You state Jesus turned water into wine and that is true but can you offer any proof that wine was alcoholic? Bear in mind we have recently discovered that alcohol in any form is very bad for unborn infants. Jesus being God would of course have known that. At the time of wedding in Cana it would be fair to expect a number of pregnant women to be in attendance so if in fact the wine was alcoholic that would put Jesus into the position of providing something that could harm someone. I DON’T THINK SO! Also do you know without sanitation and adding sugar to fruit it will spoil, turn into vinegar and never achieve an alcoholic content higher than an 1-3 percent. This percentage would not kill any other thing in the water so using the old argument they drank wine instead of water because the water would make you sick is nonsense. Also a person drinking alcoholic wine instead of water would eventually died of thirst since alcohol is dehydrator, meaning it pulls water from the body that then is eliminated with the alcohol. Also are you aware that “New Wine” which is nearly non alcoholic is sought after in the wine country? However because of it’s short shelf life days most non wine country people are unaware of it. New wine is preferred by those that know wine and will often be the basis for judging the “old wine” that will be completed at a later day. EdB |
