Bible Question (short): no physical death? not sinners? |
Question (full): Hi PADL; You have made some good points. But, I'm kinda like CDBJ, so can you please clear some things up for me, and may I ask. Wasn't there physical death as well; And not just a spiritual death? Wasn't Adam created to live (physically), forever? And I must say, when I hear a brother say; and I'm quoting you: ..."I'm not a sinner saved by grace,I'm a NEW CREATION IN CHRIST!..." Well, it really worries me. Now I know it might sound like Paul is contradicting himself but I think we need to be careful not to lose sight in that although we are, "NEW CREATIONS IN CHRIST!AMEN!" We still have that old man or sin nature, that we need to fight, for Paul says in Romans 7:15, .."For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate." and, in Rom 7:24 he says; ..."Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? It sure looks like he has lost the battle... But then v,25 says; ..."Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin." Well; it looks to me like maybe I am a sinner saved by faith, and, a new creation in Christ! Looks to me like I'm both! What do you think? Now the reason I say that it worries me when I hear a brother say, "I'm not a sinner saved by grace,I'm a NEW CREATION IN CHRIST!" Well, for me at least I cant honestly say, ...I'm not a sinner... without getting all puffed up and proud. so all I'm saying is I think maybe we need to be careful. If we lose sight of the first we can get puffed up in the last. And after all... I think God said He hates pride. your thoughts? God's peace. stj |
