NASB | 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we [believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or bad [that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives--the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities]. |
Subject: What does judgement look like |
Bible Note: Sure he did, Steve. And what does it mean to believe in him? "Easy Believism" says that all it means to believe in Jesus is to mentally acknowledge that he died, was buried, and rose again. That's it! Done! Nothing about following him or obeying him. Jesus never said to "make believers". He said to "make disciples" teaching them to obey what HE taught. He never said to teach them to obey Moses, Samuel, Paul, Peter, etc. These others certainly shouldn't be ignored. But none of them are Jesus Christ. Believing in Jesus is about following HIM, not about following Moses, David, Isaiah, Paul, John, etc. That's my take on it. |
