Subject: Does sin prove one is not a believer? |
Bible Note: BradK: Excellent post. May I add the following? The verse in Philippians 2 does not say: work FOR your salvation. It says: work OUT your salvation. Work OUT, not work FOR. "Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done..." "God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about" (glory in) "it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." Eph. 2:8-10 Romans 3:27 (ESV) "Then what becomes of our boasting" (glorying)"? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith." Grace to you, Kalos P.S. You will note that I have not added anything to the above Scriptures. As all literate people know, inserting the word glory in parentheses and outside quotation marks is merely providing a synonym for the word boast. * * * * * * * * * * * * * For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. 2 Tim 4:3a NIV |
