Bible Note: Kalos I'm sorry I didn't realize it was you that posted and not Doc. In any case. I have said I'm not defending the apocypha in any way. I'm just pointing out that it wasn't put or taken out of the Bible because of the Reformation. The debate on whether it should or should not be included started when it was included and still rages today as evidence of this thread. One thing we all need to consider. There is strong strong evidence that Jesus, plus Paul and nearly all the other disciples read and quoted from the Septuagint to some degree. One would think Jesus would have mentioned the Apocrypha had it been a problem. Perhaps the people of Jesus' time has a clearer understanding of what was scripture and what was not and which was which. :-) EdB |
