AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:6 ¶ Now, believers, if I come to you speaking in unknown tongues, how will I benefit you unless I also speak to you [clearly] either by revelation [revealing God's mystery], or by knowledge [teaching about God], or by prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people], or by instruction [teaching precepts that develop spiritual maturity]? |

Bible Note: In my 10 years as a pentacostal, I never heard anyone pray in a foriegn language. It was always in some kind of gibberish. I thought that my own gift must have been an angelic language of some kind! But now I realize that it was my attempt to speak as others were demonstrating. That is...stringing a bunch of syllables together. (hasha kapta notey gabba foray ham a lapata phooey!) I apologize if any are offended by this note. I don't want to offend anyone. It's just that it is my desire to help others recognize false teaching. I would be happy to discuss "tongues" with any who may disagree. Let us explore God's Word together. I could be wrong!
