Bible Note: Kalos I don't think the consequence of reformation was a good thing. However I do very strongly believe the Catholic church needed reformed. I do agree we should never sacrifice truth for unity. I certainly don't condone believing in anything wrong. However I do believe Romans 13:1-3 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. [2] Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. [3] For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. This raises the question what to do when the authority has made a decision that is scripturally wrong. I believe we should reframe from following the bad decision and I think we need to pray to have God change the bad decision. I don’t think we should go into open rebellion or start our own church. I hope that is far different that simply staying in unity for unity’s sake. If there is a problem in the church how do you think it should be handled? EdB |
