Bible Note: Tim We are both at the same point but tip toeing around it. I agree with your analysis of perfect and I also agree with your conclusion. I like you when scripture speaks authoritatively I also speak authoritatively, where scripture is silent I too only offer my opinion, that is all anyone can do. I think you mistake my participation in this thread. I'm not challenging you or your statements that we have to go with scripture. My concern is where scripture is silent, and by circumstance we have to make a decision on what do we base that decision? The most popular method today is let every man decide for himself what is right. Again the result of that is 3000 plus denominations. My question to you who should make that decision, each man? How about someone that reads his Bible daily? Or a theologian that devoted his life to Bible study? Or how about a group of churchmen that devoted their lives to the Christianity? I personally believe their is wisdom in the counsel of many. Therefore I tend to feel a group of churchmen/theologians that aren’t out to grind an axe or profit from it should be the ones making the call. The problem comes what happens when they make a call I don’t like. Do I accept it and get over it? Do I rebel and start my own religion? Do is reject church and say it isn’t relevant? Do I find a group I like better? Do I try to change the decision internally pleading my case? Tim my question to you, what do you feel is God’s will on this question? The follow up question would be, do you feel this is what happened in the Reformation? EdB |
