NASB | Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 6:1 What shall we say [to all this]? Should we continue in sin and practice sin as a habit so that [God's gift of] grace may increase and overflow? |
Bible Question: thanks...but that doesn't really answer my inquiry...is there any scripture that directly says whether baptism by sprinkling or immersion is "better", i only ask so that i may help my friend understand that God's grace is all that's necessary to be saved but i need to somehow counter his point about baptism to help him see this. Thanks |
Bible Answer: SCripture ... Act 10:44-47, Rom 6:3-4, 1 Cor 12:13 ... Acts 10:44-47 is a key passage to show both baptisms ... first the inward, by the Holy Spirit, then the outward, by another person. The other two passages show we need the inward baptism ... which is more important. I can be touched by water, but without the inward cahnge, it means nothing. |
