Subject: Speaking in Tongue |
Bible Note: Dear servant, One can't argue with anothers'"feelings". How one feels about a Spiritual gift is certainly debatable. Scripture doesn't call us to "feel" a certain way, but rather to action by faith showing itself by our works. Isn't love the culmination of all that the apostle speaks about in these chapters? 1 Cor 12:31- But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way. 1 Cor 13:1- If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 1 Cor 13:13- But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Cor 14:1 Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual (gifts), but especially that you may prophesy. I think one of the most wonderfully empowering (yet overlooked) tools the Lord has given to all of us is...His LOVE! What if we love our neighbor? What if we love our brethren who don't speak in tongues? Imagine the impact on the world if we were all united in our love for Christ! I believe true joy comes from helping and caring about others. May we all "know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that (we) may be filled up to all the fullness of God." Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
