Subject: Speaking in Tongue |
Bible Note: As for a [private] prayer language, I don't see this taught anywhere in the 66 books of the Bible. I've heard about a prayer language all my life, but I suspect that the idea comes from interpreting people's experiences rather than a clear verse of Scripture. We never prove the validity of the Bible by experience; we test and examine experience in light of the Bible. And since there is no mention of the word "tongues" in Acts 4, John 14, Romans 8, the book of Jude or James 3:8, I do not see how anyone could find the doctrine of a prayer language in any of these passages. I have no need that anyone explain to me what a prayer language is. As I said, I'm familiar with the concept, having heard of it my whole life. What I am not familiar with is any Scripture to back it up. Grace to you, Kalos |
