Bible Question:
Thanks Prayon for your reply and allowing me to ask questions so that i may grow in the knowledge of Holy Bible. My another question is; "What is the importance of speaking in tongues in a believer's life"? |
Bible Answer: Greetings, "1Co 14:2 When a person speaks in another language, he doesn't speak to people but to God. No one understands him. His spirit is speaking mysteries. 1Co 14:4a When a person speaks in another language, he helps himself grow. Here are 10 reasons why it is important for every believer should speak in tongues: 1) Tongues is the initial sign of being filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 4) 2) Tongues for Spiritual edification (1Cor 14:4) 3) Tongues reminds us of the Spirit's Indwelling (John 14:16,17) 4) Tonues will keep our prayers in line with God's will (Rom 8:26) 5) Praying in Tongues stimulates faith (Jude 20) 6) Praying in tongues keeps us free from worldly contamination (1Cor 14:28) 7) Praying in tongues enables us to pray for the unknown. (Rom 8:26) 8) Praying in tongues gives us spiritual refreshing (Is 28:11,12) 9) Tongues for giving thanks (1Cor 14:15-17) 10) Speaking in tongues brings the tongue under submission (James 3:8) Hope this helps. I think that the main importance is it draws us into a deeper relationship with God. We let God have a greater control over us when we allow Him to control our tongues. When we pray in tongues we put "us" aside and let "Him". prayon |
