AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 15:16 "You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you. |
Subject: Did the disciples have a choice? |
Bible Note: Thanks. I was trying to shorten the sentence without losing anything. The way I did this was not to mean "If you want to then go" but rather "If you want *that* then go and come and follow." And it's still conditional BTW. "Follow Me - If you want to be perfect" You may be satisfied, but I am not. I capitalized the "IF" and the "AND" to show that the sentence began conditional, and the conjuction "AND" is used to join the last clause with the first condition. "IF you want to be perfect then go do this and that AND come follow Me." IF x THEN go and sell and give and come_follow Me Endif |
