AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 15:16 "You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you. |

Bible Note: Greetings Greg! One more though if I may! I just re-read your post and picked up on something important which I missed before. You laid out the Greek in the following way: ""ei...thelo ...hupago...kai...deuro...akoloutheo" (IF...you want...go ...AND...come ...follow)" However, this is misleading. The conditional clause actually says, "If you want to be perfect,...." This conditional clause is then followed by three commands, "go, sell, follow". The 'if you want' does not modify the commands, as in 'if you want to follow'. It modifies 'to be perfect'. Thus, there is no 'if' within the clauses containing the commands.
