Bible Note: Thanks for looking up the word, Bob. But again, just as some have asked "why day?" when the word is not in the Greek, I ask why plural when the Greek is singular? Also if a particular week has more than one sabbath in it, it still falls on a day of the week. Since the weekly Sabbath always falls on the 7th day, then if this is the "first" of Sabbaths, it falls on a day before the 7th day of the week. The last Sabbath of the week would be, of course on the last day of the week, the 7th. So which day of the week does the first of Sabbaths fall on? |
