Subject: Will we recognize each other in glory? |
Bible Note: "O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!" If Jesus didn't want them to recognize Him why would he go into such length talking about himself. LukeĀ 24:26 "Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?" LukeĀ 24:27 Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures. The text only says; "their eyes were prevented from recognizing him." Of course that doesn't mean that God didn't do it to them, but usually the Gospels make that clearer if God did something to someone. I would prefer to conclude that they were just as shook up as Peter and the others a few verses later. There it talks about they thought they'd seen a ghost! Anyone can be unable to believe their own senses if the otherwise unbelievable occurred. |
