Subject: WHERE are they taken? |
Bible Note: Hello Kalos, Thank you for sharing. There are three verses that many skeptics will use to prove that the bible contradicts itself: Romans 3:28 Galatians 2:16 James 2:24. These verse seem like they do contradict each other to the eye of the flesh, but from a Christian standpoint you and I know the bible does not contradict itself. We also know and can agree that our good works cannot "save" us, but the whole context of Ephesians 2:8-10 is capped by verse 10 which balances out the statement that we are "saved" by grace alone. We are created to do good works, but in our flesh we cannot do these. it takes something foreign to our human nature to give ue the desire to do good, and that is the gospel. When I see Jesus on the cross, dying for my sins, this causes me to want to do what is right, and this is where convictions come from, through the Holy Spirit of course. This is also why Paul wrote that the cross is the power of God. 1 Cor 1:18. The power that eminates from the cross is the convicting power of the Spirit which causes us to obey. Romans 1:5 tells us that grace was given for obedience, and God's grace is manifested at the cross which is the power, and the gospel. God Bless you Jeff W |
