Bible Question:
Why in this scripture does the son ask for the Holy Spirit and why does the Father give it to him, what purpose does The Holy Spirit serve, if he has already been baptized into the Spirit to obtain his relationship as a son? Curious, Tim Hines |
Bible Answer: The Holy Spirit is our helper (John 14:26). The completeness of man and Holy Spirit help us to avoid the sins of this world. Now another question is why did Jesus get baptized if he had never sinned? The answer is that he was showing us, being an example for us. Just be willing to give up all, including your life if need be, take up YOUR CROSS and follow Jesus (Mark 8:34; John 12:25). Read Matthew 3:15,16; John 3:1-8. In Matthew the Spirit is made VISIBLE in the shape of a dove. In John, Jesus says that the spiit is like the wind (meaning it's there but it can't be seen). We are born again when we are baptized, but it isn't untill we are born again from above (baptized by Holy Spirit) that we will enter Heaven (John 3:5). Unfortunatly most of us are not completely believing or willing to give ourselves up at the time of our water baptizm that we don't get the immediate baptizm of the Holy Spirit as Jesus and many of the Early Disciples (Matthew 3:16) To answer your Question Shortly, the Holy spirit is a guide to help you in everyday life and you can't enter heaven without it. Just be willing to give your all, even your life if need be, and take up YOUR CROSS and follow Jesus (Mark 8:34; John 12:25) then you will recive the Baptizm of the Spirit. |
