Bible Note: Dear Keliy, I am interested in your thought process that lead you to your following statement, "As Jesus did not condemn the adulterous woman, neither would He condemn a rebellious child for a sin of the tongue, at that point in time. But there will be an eternal judgement, which is what I believe the Lord is referring to in the verse that you questioned." My point in this is 1) This passage is not in some of the early manuscripts and 2) to develop a universal truth on this verse alone would be as some say a stretch. We simply don't know if a partial judgment might be imposed. We certainly know the golden rule to treat others as we want to be treated and there are many verses about the tongue and the problems it can cause when not controlled. So I really don't think we can say what God will do when His children sin. He may take them quickly to the holy woodshed. Just a thought. Val |
