Bible Question: What did Jesus mean by refering to the Pharisees as hypocrites, the blind leading the blind? |
Bible Answer: Hello daverobertsjr, Welcome to the Forum! The reference to blindness is not physical blindness, remember Jesus most often talked about the spiritual realm, using metaphors of the material world to help us understand. For examples of spiritual blindness, see the several passages in Like that Jesus exclaims to the Pharisees, "Woe unto you". The last one is this: Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. Lord's Blessings to you, Keliy |
