Bible Note: Before you jump to conclusions and decisively declare yourself not under Torah, consider this: 1. Let's see who gave and established Torah Joh 1:16-18 So we see in verse 16 and 17 that it was favor (i.e. grace) that Torah was given. It was given through Moses, the grace and truth came through the Yah'shua Messiah. the same word which was in the beginning. Most read that thinking there is being shown a contrast between Moses and Yah'shua, but the preceding and following verses show that's not the case. Imagine this: You and your people have been enslaved for years. You've been forced to work 7/365. You've been under influence to worship pagan gods, and give them all they demand. You've experienced hierarchy where only the rich and powerful get the good stuff. The poor are dispensable. (Look up caste system in India, that's more or less how it works. Actually it's similar in many other countries. The rich get health care and share very little with the poor) Now, along comes this true Elohiym, and shows you how it should be. Now according to his rules, you get 1 day in 7 off to rest. According to this system, you get at least 2 weeks off per year, celebrating in his festivals. In this system, people are precious. The poor are taken care of. There's a health care system for everyone, done through the Levites, and it's equal access for all. The promise is given that if the people follow the rules in the system, they won't be cursed with evil diseases like they saw in Egypt. Women are protected from marauding men. If a man desires a woman, he can't just take her. If he does, and she cries out, he is put to death. If she is single, and doesn't cry out, then he has to marry her and cannot divorce her. Other sexual perversions are also forbidden, and I believe this was for our own good. Mat 11:27-30 Here again, in verse 27, we see it is Yah'shua who reveals the Father. Matthew testifies that no one knows the Father, except through the Son. His yoke is the same as he gave to Moses. In it is life, and it's not nearly the burden satan would put on us. Luk 10:22 Again, the son does the revealing. He did all the speaking from the very beginning. He represented Yahweh. He guided Abraham, Jacob and Moses, giving promises he would redeem and keep. Finally he gave redemption by giving himself in place of us; he took our sentence on himself. In turn, his Father trusts him with everything. 2. Yah'shua himself confess that he and the Father are one. Joh 10:30 So if he guarded and kept his Father's commands, and he was the one who declared them to Moses as John testified, then when he said to keep his commands, what commands do you think he was talking about? All of them, or just the ones you feel like keeping? 3. Paul confessed Acts 24:14 that the way which they call heresy (belief in Yah’shua the Messiah), so worships he the Elohim of his fathers (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets Paul again, in all of Romans 3, but specifically vs. 31: Do we then make void the law through faith? Yahweh forbid, yea, we establish the law Romans 4 v.1_5 Abraham was boasted of by others for his righteousness (obedience) but even that didn’t justify him before Yahweh. It was his belief in Yahweh that justified him, and his obedience was a result of that faith v.15 without the law, there would be no transgression (sin) v.11 circumcision was given as a seal of righteousness even while Abraham was of the uncircumcision (a gentile) v.14 This verse appears to me to be saying those who think they are saved by the law, thereby making believing useless, and by doing so, have nullified the plan of salvation for themselves Romans 8 v.1 there isn’t any condemnation for those who don’t follow the ways of the flesh, but follow the Spirit v.2 the law of he Spirit sets us free from the death that sin brought (the law of sin is that sin brings death. Adam and Eve didn’t physically die from sin but spiritually. That was the lie the serpent told) v.3_5 the law was powerless to save us, because it was of the flesh. It only regulated morality. The righteousness of the law was fulfilled in those who follow the Spirit instead of their own natural ways. v.7 explains the above by telling us that our natural ways are at enmity with Yahweh v.10_13 If Yah’shua is in us, we die to sin and gain life v.35_39 No external force is capable of separating us from the love of Yahweh. Beware though, that sin does separate us from Him. I would deduce from the skeletal collection of Scriptures I have posted here that the law of death is what we are not under. Sin requires a penalty of death. Yah'shua paid our penalty. He didn't remove the law. What was nailed to the stake was the hand written ordinance of death. Read also Joh 5:45-47 Who accuses?
