Bible Question: What does it mean then, in Acts Chapter 8, when Phillip comands the Chariot to stop and they both go down into the water? Seems like "Real" water to me? What are you thoughts? |
Bible Answer: It is water in the verse that you referred to, I didn’t say that it wasn’t; but where did it say water in MK 16:16, the verse in question? I think you are missing my point. I’m not an opponent of water baptism, by any stretch of the imagination. The day that I was baptized was a very joyful exciting time of obedience for me, and it followed my faith and trust in Jesus which brought salvation. Water baptism was the second time that I was baptized after my being baptized by the Holy Spirit whom sealed my salvation in the first place immediately after I believed in Jesus as the Son of God who redeemed me. Ephes. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, The Holy Spirit himself was the seal.
