Bible Note: lionheart, First.....I love you. Second.....I should never have posted here in the first place. The suicide question was awful. Also, I am hopeless. Others and now you try to help, but I will never get it. I have been trying to be a Christian for a year now and just cannot get it. Third.....I am impressed and envious that you have overcome depression with God, something I will never accomplish. Fourth.....Before now, I thought I did believe 1 John 3:1-3, but I see that I really do not. Granted, God cannot lie, but, following 3:1-3, when I read 3:4-10, my spirit drops to dispair. "Everyone who sins is breaking God's law..." I sin always. God cannot be happy with me. "But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil..." Ouch! That one hurts! "Those who have been born into God's family do not make a practice of sinning..." That must mean that I have not been born into God's family. I guess I have not been saved afterall and probably never will be. "Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God." Well, I love other believers--I love non-believers also. However, I do not live righteously. I doubt that one half of the equation will save me. I do appreciate your response as well as that of docTrinsograce. When responding, you did not know that you were wasting your time with me. I just will never get it right. I'm sorry. |
