AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 10:21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love (high regard, compassion) for him, and He said to him, "You lack one thing: go and sell all your property and give [the money] to the poor, and you will have [abundant] treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me [becoming My disciple, believing and trusting in Me and walking the same path of life that I walk]." |

Bible Note: Hello Pako, I am glad that it works for you, the miss concept of “prosperity teaching”, isn't a sure thing for all! Many, even with the case of the Apostle Paul couldn’t get it to work for him because it wasn’t in God’s plan for his life, as it isn’t for many loyal believers, the Lord just hasn’t planed it that way. Paul informs us, 2 Cor. 12:8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. Paul realized that after three attempts with prayer that his physical problem wasn’t dissipating, so instead of rebelling and reacting in defeat, he responded in faith. 2 Cor. 12:5 (B) yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. 2 Cor. 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. Christ had something far better for Paul then just good health, it was grace. Paul found out that he was better off with the grace and the power of Christ, over the healing that could have been his. The Lord revealed the following to Paul, 2 Cor. 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Now here is an example of “Biblical prosperity teaching” and how the love of God can be expressed by believers for others. Philip. 4:10-13 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. [11] Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. [12] I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. [13] I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me It gave others, in Christ, the opportunity to express the love of God through them toward Paul. Philip. 4:14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction. Paul exuded the “prosperity teaching principal” as being the grace of God, and not good health and this was manifest to others through Paul’s ability to cope with his physical maladies and praise God for it. 2 Cor. 12:9 (B) Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Cor. 7:4 Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation. I think the following pretty much sums up how Paul used his physical affliction for the prosperity of others. 2 Cor. 1:3-4 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; [4] Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. Paul didn’t react against his physical condition, he responded knowing that it too, was a work of God, in his favor. Paul had his thinking screwed on straight; he knew that all things weren’t good, but that God can cause them all to work together for good. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Emphasis on his, God’s purpose) Have a great day, CDBJ |
