Bible Question:
Being a woman and very insecure with my looks (I have reason to be)I am not rich, actually I am poor and getting my hair, nails, tanning, etc;just lets me feel a little better.Does God and Jesus want us to look good for ever even in heaven. He's got all the natural stuff up there but I am on earth with bad weather and cold and I love the tanning look for my self.If Jesus and his dad feel this is wrong in their eye's tell me why? |
Bible Answer: Hi Captarcan111, 1 Pet 3:3 Your adornment must not be merely external--braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; 4 but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. God wants you to be focused on Him, and on who you are in your heart, which is the real you, not just the outward appearance. If you spend your resources, time, money, on your exterior, which will fade with time no matter what you do, and neglect the matters of the heart and of the spirit, what will you do when that is all you have left, and you have not made your spirit to be beautiful? Inner beauty is the beauty that lasts. Isaiah (53:2) wrote of Jesus that He was not physically attractive, yet there is none more beautiful than He is! Take care of yourself is much as is reasonable, but focus on the inside. Love in Christ, Mark |
